At the heart of our PLF community, lies the State of the Child brunch, an annual showcase performed by the children of Directions for Youth and Families. The State of the Child brunch embodies the impact of all of your charitable contributions over the years.

Whether you have contributed at PBR10K, 2Fine9s, or the Chili Bowl, the proceeds of PLF events help fund the programming that these bright stars have the opportunity to participate in.  The stage in the Archie Griffin Ball Room of The Ohio State University became a canvas for these aspiring, inspiring young performers whose lives have been touched by the kindness of PLF supporters. Each year the State of the Child serves as a true testament to the transformative power of generosity. 

This year three of our board members, including one of the founders, and a volunteer at PLF events had the honor and privilege of experiencing the showcase first-hand. From musicians, to singers, to dancers, and drama performers and writers, each act radiates with a spirit of bravery, resilience, and hope reflecting the endless possibilities that lie ahead.
